LASD Vehicle Testing at the Auto Club Speedway
Lieutenant David Do and Deputy Ramiro Juarez go over the basics of what they are looking for when deciding what features, products and potential emergency vehicles make the cut. Working with manufactures to develop vehicles that best fit the high standards of LASD’s fleet is a critical part of the job.
The entire vehicle is tested at this annual event, from speed and handling to safety features and comfort. During testing, vehicles are pushed to their limits to the point that the EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Center) drivers are confident that the cars will hold up in the field.
